On May 14, 1994; Ranferi Rogel and David Rodriguez opened the doors of El Sombrero Restaurante Mexicano in Calgary. The restaurant focuses on using fresh, high-quality ingredients to prepare made from scratch Mexican cuisine.

El Sombrero’s menu offers a variety of Mexican food from all over Mexico; fajitas, enchiladas, grilled soft tacos, quesadillas, burritos, chiles rellenos, combination platters, soups and salads and many more. El Sombrero offers a wide selection of Mexican beers, tequilas, margaritas and cocktails. The Sombrero also provide take out, delivery and catering.

As any other small business, we have gone through lows and highs during these difficult financial times. However, as entrepreneurs we have made every effort to stay in business and thanks to our loyal patrons we are still here and we hope to see them for many more years.

We always give our best by improving our food quality, such as new recipes, and specials of the day at reasonable prices. We keep the most authentic atmosphere by having live Mexican entertainment five days a week.
